Job Title: Nurse Manager - ICU/CCU
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Manager to oversee the operations of our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Critical Care Unit (CCU).
As a Nurse Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of dedicated ICU/CCU nurses and ensuring the delivery of high-quality healthcare services to critically ill patients.
Your duties will include coordinating patient care, supervising staff, maintaining departmental standards, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide leadership and guidance to the ICU/CCU nursing staff
- Coordinate and oversee patient care activities within the unit
- Develop and implement policies and protocols to ensure compliance with healthcare standards and regulations
- Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to create comprehensive patient care plans
- Monitor and evaluate patient outcomes and adjust care plans as necessary
- Manage staffing schedules, including assigning shifts and ensuring adequate coverage
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to nursing staff
- Facilitate staff education and professional development opportunities
- Maintain departmental budget and control expenses effectively
- Act as a liaison with patients, families, and visitors to address concerns and provide emotional support
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and promote a culture of continuous process improvement
- Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols
- Stay updated with the latest advancements and best practices in ICU/CCU nursing
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (required), Master's degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration (preferred)
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in ICU/CCU nursing
- Proven experience in a leadership or managerial role within a healthcare setting
- Strong knowledge of critical care and emergency nursing practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Proficient in managing budgets and resources effectively
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and accreditation standards
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to handle high-stress situations calmly and effectively
