Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients in the emergency room
- Perform triage assessments to determine the urgency of patient needs
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Monitor and document patient vital signs and symptoms
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Assist with medical procedures and interventions as needed
- Educate patients and their families on disease prevention, treatment options, and self-care techniques
- Coordinate discharge planning and ensure smooth transitions of care
Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in an emergency room setting
- Knowledge of emergency nursing protocols and procedures
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress situations
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Skills:
- Experience in nursing home or assisted living settings
- Health coaching expertise
- Familiarity with ambulatory surgery center operations
- Knowledge of medical office procedures and workflows
- Proficiency in discharge planning processes
- Triage assessment skills
- Understanding of medical imaging techniques and interpretation
- Basic life support certification (BLS)
- Familiarity with hospice palliative medicine principles
