JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
Assists with patient admissions, outpatients, and inpatients for the Emergency Department, and other clinical areas of the hospital as needed.
Responsible for the clerical duties associated with patient care and assists with patient care (newborn to geriatric) as directed by the Emergency Department Manager, Medical Director and specific unit delegates.
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
The Emergency Department provides care for patients with a wide variety of needs from non-critical to emergent medical conditions including emergent and urgent mental health care.
All patients are welcome whether walking in or arriving by emergency transport.
All Emergency Department staff are certified to care for critical cardiac and trauma patients including children.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
One (1) of the following required:
Current unencumbered Oregon CNA Level 2 - Acute Care designation certification.
Current unencumbered Oregon EMT, AEMT or EMT-I.
Healthcare Provider BLS required.
Experience or training in computer applications required.
One (1) year recent experience preferred.
Previous ED experience preferred.
