Position Purpose:
Provide family support services and assistance to specific regions including content areas of
ERSEA, family partnerships and engagement, community resources and collaborations, and support service
delivery
.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
ERSEA
Implement and conduct timely In-Person Interviews with applicants to ensure complete and correct
information on application in accordance with program policies.
Conduct enrollment activities for assigned families, ensuring families have completed the enrollment
process.
Attend recruitment events.
Maintain up to date, confidential and pertinent information regarding applications and enrollments in the
assigned data base system.
Attend regular meetings with ERSEA team.
Support region in attendance tracking, documentation and follow-up, as assigned.
Family Engagement
Support regional educational staff in planning, developing, and organizing family
support services, including community resource referrals, parent orientation, and updating/maintaining child/family files.
Work directly with families assigned/prioritized through a referral process within region, providing
additional individual support to families in order to support their efforts and family partnership plans.
Support and assist with case review (staffing) of families, as needed.
Meet regularly with family support team, including Family Service Coordinator.
Keep detailed and up to date records.
Support region with Policy Council representatives in their role, including attending Policy Council when
able.
Attend all parent meetings in region, as much as possible, in order to support Policy Council
representatives in their acquisition of a leadership role.
Support region in planning and developing family events as needed and requested by supervisor.
Provide coaching support to enrolled families based on specific content areas individually assigned such
as financial literacy content expert, Mom-Net content expert, language acquisition.
Collaboration
Research and develop understanding of best practice and resources for assigned content area.
Participate in referral and special education individual family service plans (IFSP) processes as needed.
Maintain on-going contact with teaching staff in order to share relevant home information and gain information regarding child performance in the classroom.
Provide information relative to Head Start health and nutrition requirements: work with Health Advocate to support families in completing health screenings, as needed
Develop external agency partnerships to resource capacity.
Recordkeeping and Reporting
Document and track follow up needs, document all parent contacts and home visits.
Document support consultation to teachers regarding particular concerns with families at scheduled staffings.
Report and document child abuse.
Ensure accurate and timely documentation in agency database and family file.
Complete all local, regional and federal reporting requirements in a timely and accurate manner.
Maintain all records in a confidential manner in accordance with the program confidentiality policy.
