Job Type: Contract Job Category: Nursing Job Description Job Title: Med Surg Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Job Summary: The Med Surg Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct patient care in a medical-surgical setting under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians.
They assist with activities of daily living, perform basic nursing procedures, and ensure the comfort and safety of patients.
Responsibilities and Duties: 1.
Assist patients with bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene.
2.
Take vital signs and record patient information.
3.
Provide assistance with ambulation and mobility.
4.
Assist with turning and repositioning patients to prevent bedsores.
5.
Monitor patients for changes in condition and report to nursing staff.
6.
Assist with feeding and hydration of patients.
7.
Perform basic nursing procedures such as wound care and catheter care.
8.
Maintain a clean and organized patient environment.
9.
Follow all hospital policies and procedures for patient care.
10.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Qualifications and Skills: 1.
High school diploma or GED.
2.
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
3.
Previous experience in a medical-surgical setting preferred.
4.
Basic life support (BLS) certification.
5.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
6.
Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.
7.
Compassionate and caring attitude towards patients.
8.
Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
9.
Physical stamina to perform tasks such as lifting and transferring patients.
10.
Flexibility to work various shifts and weekends.
