Responsibilities and Duties: - Assess patients' conditions and develop individualized care plans based on their specific needs.
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the intensive care unit, with a specific focus on those diagnosed with coronary heart diseases.
- Monitor patients' vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and temperature, and promptly report any abnormalities to the healthcare team.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and ensure accurate documentation of medications and therapeutic interventions.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, including physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to patient care.
- Perform diagnostic tests, interpret results, and implement appropriate interventions accordingly.
- Assist in invasive procedures, such as intubations, central line insertions, and chest tube insertions.
- Monitor and operate medical equipment to ensure accurate readings and proper functioning.
- Educate patients and their families on the patient's condition, treatments, and medication management.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to infection control protocols and standard operating procedures.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in intensive care and coronary nursing and participate in continuing education opportunities.
Qualifications and Skills: - Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent; Master's degree preferred.
- Current and valid registered nurse (RN) license in the state.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an intensive care or coronary care unit.
- Certification in Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) preferred.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of cardiac diseases, ICU treatments, and interventions.
- Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure, multi-task, and prioritize effectively.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and medical devices.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
