Summary:
The Benefits Specialist works collaboratively across the HR department and organization to provide exceptional customer service to support employees and their dependents on all aspects of benefits.
The specialist will serve as subject matter expert and administration leader for all benefit offerings at The Corvallis Clinic.
The specialist will work closely with Administration as an active participant and recommender of benefit programs, analysis, communication, and training.
Principal Responsibilities:
1.
Will participate and maintain a culture within The Corvallis Clinic consistent with the content outlined in the Service and Behavioral Standards document.
To this end, employee will be expected to read and discuss the values with others, have familiarity, and embrace the principles contained within while exercising their scope of responsibilities.
2.
Serves as primary benefit administrator for assigned benefit programs, which include, Medical/Pharmacy, Dental, Vision, EAP, FSA/HRA/HSA, Life/ADD insurance, LTD and STD plans.
3.
Serves as primary contact for Brokers, plan vendors and third-party administrators.
4.
Ensures accuracy of all benefit enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.
5.
Coordinates and audit benefit deductions with Payroll.
6.
Handles enrollments, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims and compliance testing.
7.
Responsible for annual 1095-c reporting and ACA compliance.
8.
Responsible for annual Open Enrollment process with HRIS vendor.
9.
Performs Annual Open Enrollment meetings.
Organize annual Benefit/Wellness Fair.
10.
Ensures compliance with applicable government regulations.
Ensure timeliness and accuracy of required reporting and fees.
11.
Responsible for annual NDT testing.
12.
Manages vendor relationships, including but not limited to holding them accountable to plan design, integration, contracts, service level agreements, materials, and delivery.
13.
Reconciles and process monthly benefit billings.
14.
Compiles monthly, quarterly, and other specialized reports for research and compliance purposes.
15.
Oversees Cobra Administration.
Education, Licensure, and Experience:
1.
Two (2) years of previous experience with benefit management, or employee benefits administration experience required.
2.
SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP or CEBS professional designation required.
3.
Familiarity with Paylocity and BSwift preferred.
Knowledge and skills:
1.
Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws.
2.
Well-developed interpersonal and communications skills.
3.
Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
