What you need to qualify One year experience assisting professionals in one or more specialized social programs such as family services, children services, senior services, mental or developmental disability services, substance abuse programs, juvenile corrections programs, or occupational skills programs; OR.

Possession of a current certification in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Addiction Counseling Preparation, or Juvenile Corrections; OR.

45 quarter hours, or 30 semester hours of college course work in sociology, psychology, early childhood education, criminal justice, human services, juvenile corrections, or occupational skills training; OR.

An associate degree in a field not closely related to Social Work/Human Services and six months of human services related experience (i.

, work providing assistance to individuals and groups with issues such as economically disadvantaged, employment, abuse and neglect, substance abuse, aging, mental or physical disabilities, juvenile prevention, health, cultural competencies, and/or inadequate housing).

Your duties at a glance As an employee working within the Child Welfare Program, you will have an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Oregon’s most vulnerable children and families.
Your dedication will help us achieve the Child Welfare Vision for Transformation that will support children and young adults to be safer, healthier, experience less trauma and achieve a greater well-being.
As a Family Time Coordinator, you will: Gather and document information from the caseworker, children, parents, relatives, case providers, schools and other resources to plan family time visits.
Meet with clients, family members and caregivers to review family time agreements and guidelines.
Supervise family time visits between children, parents and family members in an office setting or in a community setting.
You will observe family time and take case notes.
Transport children to visits, medical appointments, social services or other agency related appointments as required.
Collaborate with Caseworkers to assess level and location of family time supervision on an on-going basis.
Working conditions This position will work a schedule of Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm during training.
After training is completed, the schedule would be Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 6:00 pm, unless otherwise changed by your supervisor based on agency needs.
Your work will be conducted in office and community settings.
Frequent travel for the purpose of transporting children is required.
Occasional paid overtime on nights and weekends may be required to meet service needs.
You may interact with a wide range of people including some who have experienced trauma, exhibit challenges in controlling their emotions.
Transportation and supervision of visitation may involve lifting and carrying younger children, car seats, diaper bags, or other items.
This position requires the ability to use computer technology, including a working knowledge of Outlook, Microsoft Word, and OR-Kids.
