Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our medical/surgical team.
As a Registered Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to individuals admitted to our hospital's medical/surgical unit.

Responsibilities:
- Perform physical examinations and assessments of patients
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Utilize aseptic technique to ensure infection control
- Assist with diagnostic procedures, such as sonography and phlebotomy
- Educate patients and their families on various health topics, including family planning
- Document patient information accurately and thoroughly using electronic health record systems (e.
g.
, Athenahealth)
- Monitor and ventilate patients as needed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families throughout their hospital stay
- Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
Skills:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:
- Strong clinical knowledge and expertise in medical/surgical nursing
- Proficiency in performing physical examinations and assessments
- Familiarity with aseptic technique for infection control
- Experience with sonography and phlebotomy procedures
- Knowledge of family planning principles and practices
- Competence in using electronic health record systems (e.
g.
, Athenahealth)
- Ability to ventilate patients as necessary
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient interaction
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Requirements:
- Valid Registered Nurse license in the state of
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred but not required
- Minimum of experience in medical/surgical nursing preferred
- CPR certification required
- Knowledge of medical coding preferred
