The position supports the function of Human Resources assisting with compliance, employee relations support, website update, benefit management, payroll support and project work as assigned.
This confidential position is not represented by collective bargaining.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Recruitment, onboarding and offboarding: Assisting in talent acquisition and recruitment processes Assist with job descriptions, job ads, and screening candidates, as necessary Work closely with Hiring Managers to support hiring process and diversity initiatives Onboard new employees – ensure paperwork is completed, data entered into software systems Support college operational areas with orientation development and annual reviews Maintain confidential employee personnel records.
Ensure all offboarding procedures are followed and final checks are processed.
Human Resources Support Maintain probationary and annual employee performance review process Support insurance, HRA (Health Reimbursement Arrangement) and FSA (Flexible Spending Account) processes Supports the functions of employee leave programs including workers compensation, short-term disability, FMLA and ADA along with employee communications Assist with gathering data, maintaining, and updating documentation in compliance with labor contracts Performs special assignments related to strategic projects, goals and objectives in support of the Colleges mission, vision and values.
Gather and analyze data to derive useful HR metrics, helping us make informed decisions.

SUPERVISES THE FOLLOWING STAFF This position does not supervise but may direct the work of student workers Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: Two years of experience in human resources environment.
Associate degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
Relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor degree in Human Resources or related field Professional experience working in a college or university Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of federal, state and local laws, statutes, regulations, codes, and standards related to the area of Human Resources.
Ability to rapidly learn and apply new information and concepts within Human Resources.
Knowledge and experience in the use of computer software including Microsoft Office Suite (i.
e.
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
) and Zoom.
Knowledge of office practices, procedures and techniques.
Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.
Initiative, flexibility and the ability to work effectively both with and without supervision.
Interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as a team member, collaborating with diverse groups within the College and community.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, see and talk or hear.
The employee is often required to have mobility to move between offices, classrooms, and floors; use hands to finger, handle or operate computers, objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
Light physical exertion with occasional, bending, stooping, pulling, and moderate lifting, employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and have the ability to carry equipment and tools of moderate weight, using arms and hands.
Specific vision and hearing abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus, and complete and maintain various types of records.
Ability to hear the conversational voice and effectively communicate responses.
Assignment will include presence at all OCCC locations and may include evening and weekend work.
Travel between College sites and other locations will be required.
Occasional travel and overnight stays outside of Lincoln County may be required for training and other purposes.
Work occurs in an office environment with potential for interruptions and background noise.
The use of tobacco and smoke-emitting materials and devices including electronic cigarettes, is prohibited on all of the college’s campuses, including OCCC’s building exteriors and parking lots.
