JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
The Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable for utilizing the nursing process to provide safe, age-appropriate, direct and indirect patient care, while practicing within the scope of practice of the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
The Progressive Care Unit provides direct care or influences care for acutely ill patients who are moderately stable with an elevated risk for instability.
The PCU provides care through advanced knowledge and experience in a setting that provides advanced monitoring, assessments, and interventions.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
Current unencumbered Oregon RN license required.
Healthcare Provider Level BLS required.
GSR PCU 2S:
ACLS required within six (6) months of hire.
Cross train to ICU within 1 year; unless other arrangements are made with Management.
One (1) of the following required:
Six (6) months RN experience in Med/Surg, PCU, ICU or a related area.
Successful completion of an SHS PCU or Critical Care Internship.
PCU and basic EKG experience preferred.
Verification of high school diploma or equivalent required due to the College of American Pathologists (CAP) requirements for moderate complexity testing.
