Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse
- Assist with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Take and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure
- Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring patient safety
- Assist with feeding and tube feeding as needed
- Perform physical examinations and report any abnormalities to the nurse
- Provide primary care to patients in various settings, including hospitals, clinics, and long-term care facilities
- Assist with hospice care, providing comfort and support to patients and their families
- Provide care to pediatric patients, ensuring their specific needs are met
- Assist with sterile processing of equipment and instruments
- Perform gastric lavage procedures as directed by healthcare professionals
- Work with individuals with developmental disabilities, providing support and assistance tailored to their needs
- Phlebotomize patients for laboratory testing
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of a nursing assistant training program or equivalent experience
- Current certification as a nursing assistant (CNA) in the state of employment
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well in a team environment and follow instructions from healthcare professionals
- Compassionate and caring attitude towards patients of all ages and backgrounds
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
