JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
The Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable for utilizing the nursing process to provide safe, age-appropriate, direct and indirect patient care, while practicing within the scope of practice of the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
The Resource Nurse applies their advanced knowledge and experience to provide direct care or influence care for acutely and critically ill patients throughout the hospital who are at high risk for actual or potential life-threatening health problems.
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
The Intensive Care Unit provides direct care or influences care for acutely/critically ill patients who are at high risk for actual or potential life-threatening health problems.
The ICU provides care through advanced knowledge and experience in a setting that provides intensive monitoring, assessments, and interventions.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
Current unencumbered Oregon RN license required.
Healthcare Provider Level BLS required.
GSR ICU-CCU:
Verification of high school diploma or equivalent required due to the College of American Pathologists (CAP) requirements for moderate complexity testing.
ACLS and TNCC required within six (6) months of hire.
Two (2) years experience as a registered nurse in an intensive care or progressive care area required.
CCRN and PALS required within one (1) year of hire.
