The web specialist position is part of a digital marketing team whose main goal is to advance the brand of Oregon State University and inform the public about the university in the digital space.
This position is part of a team that includes writers, editors, visual artists, project managers, social media specialists, content creators and strategic leaders.
This position is responsible for website design, development and the maintenance of the OSU homepage, top tier pages, leadership pages and other university sites.
The web specialist works closely with division leadership on digital formats to deliver priority university communications.
Through the work on leadership websites, this position is made aware of sensitive and confidential information before it is made available to the public.

Experience with modern front-end web technologies including HTML5, CSS3 and jQuery.
Demonstrated expert proficiency with large-scale content management systems, such as Drupal.
Demonstrated commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity in a professional or personal setting.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Demonstrated understanding of information architecture and website design best practices.
Demonstrated ability to work successfully independently.
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq.
Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.

Working Conditions / Work Schedule The work of this position is primarily located in Corvallis, Ore.
This position is eligible for a remote/hybrid working arrangement, conditions to be approved by the supervisor.
Some work may be done remotely at the discretion of the supervisor.
Occasional evening, early morning and weekend work is required when adjustments are needed for websites that are critical to university communications or strategies.
