Employment Category Temporary Job Summary This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (approximately 20 hours per week) Temporary Biological Sciences Research Technician 2 position for the Department of Forest Ecosystems and Society at Oregon State University (OSU).
The Forest Biotechnology Laboratory directed by Professor Steve Strauss has a temporary opportunity for an employee who is experienced in transcriptome analysis of RNA-seq data to carry out detailed analyses of differential expression in poplars undergoing in vitro regeneration.
The work is expected to take at least three months and 20 hours per week and will be undertaken in close collaboration with an undergrad and another postdoc that is working on the project.
The work is also expected to lead- or co-authorship of a scientific publication.
Experience in R programming language and Bioconductor R packages is preferred.

Lead- or co-authorship of a scientific publication.
What We Require Two years of college-level courses in (specific field of biological science) and one year of experience related to the area of assignment at the Biological Research Technician 1 level; OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.
What You Will Need In depth experience in transcriptome analysis of RNAseq data.
A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
