Overview:
The Land Cover group supports the production of a variety of land use land cover geospatial datasets.
An Analyst supports technical teams by completing tasks with limited oversight.
The Analyst should be comfortable working both individually and as part of a team to support data production workflows using tools such as ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, SQL Server, and cloud environments.
Familiarity with vector and raster geospatial data should be strong enough to support finalization of project deliverables.
Communication both internally and externally is required.
Internally, an Analyst will coordinate closely with the technical leaders and project managers towards the completion of project requirements and provide technical support, quality control, and training for technicians.
Externally, an Analyst should have the ability to communicate in a professional manner with clients and/or partners to support the sharing of data insights and to ask questions that inform the creation of best products possible within project constraints.
The Analyst will also work toward identifying and developing process improvements and efficiencies.
It is expected that areas of specialty may start to develop within this position.
This position requires working in an office setting in front of a computer; there is no fieldwork component to this job.

Professional during times of stress Strong writing skills Strong critical thinking skills Comfortable with ambiguity and limited direction Ability to train others using clear communication and constructive feedback Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience 6+ months of technician or equivalent experience 2+ years of experience in a professional work environment 2+ years of analysis experience working within GIS software Proficiency in MS Office Suite Ability to read maps, understand coordinate systems, perform raster and vector calculations and make conversions between formats Preferred Qualifications Experience with photo interpretation of aerial imagery Experience with Land Use Land Cover geospatial datasets Experience with database design and/or working in a distributed database environment (this could be geodatabases or non-spatial databases) Experience in programming languages such as Python, R, C++, etc.
