SUMMARY: Under general supervision, to perform a variety of activities related to the purchasing, receiving, inspecting, processing and storing of materials, supplies and equipment; to drive a delivery vehicle in the pick up and delivery of intra-district and United States mail, supplies and material, and audio-visual equipment; and to do other related work as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
Other duties may be assigned.
Maintains a cooperative relationship with fellow staff members, students, and the general public.
Adheres to and enforces district, state, and federal laws, policies, procedures, and regulations.
Load a delivery vehicle with a variety of supplies, materials, laundry, equipment, and mail.
Drive a delivery vehicle to delivery and pickup sites and load and unload the delivery vehicle in specified locations.
Receive, process, and store supplies, materials, and equipment.
Process intra-district and United States mail.
Maintain a variety of storage and delivery related records.
Receive and process delivery acknowledgement receipts.
Operate a variety of warehouse equipment, including a forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck.
Assist in conducting supply inventory reviews and in maintaining inventory control procedures.
Review delivery vehicle service records and follows up preventative maintenance and lubrication schedules.
Periodically review supply quantities and alert appropriate personnel pertaining to reorder needs.
May purchase routine supplies and follow up shipment discrepancies and damage.
May review and recommend supplies, goods and materials that should be declared unusable or obsolete.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of:
Methods and procedures pertaining to receiving, processing, storing, and distribution of a variety of supplies, materials, equipment, and mail;
Simple record management procedures;
Vehicle service and maintenance requirements;
Safe working and vehicle operational practices.
Ability to:
Effectively operate a delivery vehicle and participate in a receiving, storage, and distribution operation;
Perform routine clerical tasks;
Perform moderately heavy manual tasks;
Understand and carry out oral and written directions;
Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and skill is qualifying.
A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and skill would be:
Experience:
Six months experience operating a mid-size delivery vehicle and performing receiving and storage functions.
Education:
Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.
License Requirement
Possession of a valid Oregon Motor Vehicle Operator's License.

Insurability by the District's liability insurance carrier
