A Buying Assistant supports the buyers and coordinates POs promptly and accurately to maintain the supply of products.
Your responsibilities may include working with the executive team to establish accounts with vendors, scheduling shipments, tracking purchases, and maintaining detailed documentation.
The Buying Assistant researches and secures products and services to help sustain smooth daily operations by providing relevant and timely information to buyers.
Therefore, communicating with various teams, departments and vendors is crucial.
Responsibilities:
Write, place and track purchase orders,
Work with buyers and vendors during trade shows to ensure POs are made promptly and accurately,
Research new suppliers and make recommendations to the buyers,
Compile reports on product performance and statistics
Research competitive retail and pricing strategies with buyers.
Requirements:
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication,
- Possess strong analytical and organizational skills,
- Demonstrate strong numbers skill and detail orientation,
- Multi-task and perform under pressure, and
- Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Word and Excel).
Recommended skills and experiences:
Experienced in merchandising, retail, or buying,
Experienced with Ace Hardware or some other hardware brand
Skilled in negotiating
Education:
Business education or equivalent experience.
Reporting:
This job reports directly to the main buyer.
However, this person will work directly with other buyers and managers corporately.
