SUMMARY:
The Technology Specialist/Student Information Systems SE Technology Coordinator works
as part of the Student Services Department to assist educational staff in utilizing the
District’s student information system to meet state and federal guidelines and to improve
student achievement with a particular focus on supporting special education students.
Acquires and updates skills as necessary for effective student information system management.
Troubleshoots and acts as helpdesk for Synergy SE related questions.
Trains users in applications.
Compiles and submits all data for Oregon Department of Education reports as assigned.
Performs other related duties as assigned to support an effective and thorough educational program for the Sweet Home School District’s students and staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.
Maintains a cooperative relationship with fellow staff members, students and the general public.
Adheres to and enforces district, state, and federal laws, policies, procedures, and regulations.
Consults with IT, Student Services and Teaching & Learning departments regarding software/app requests and implementation Provides professional development for instructional applications, strategies and use of hardware and software Works closely with building staff to provide them with the necessary tools to assist their building staff with Student Information System needs.
Provide assistance to District staff for student data information and Student Services related software, curriculum and/or applications.
Attends professional growth activities to keep abreast of innovations in classroom and learning technologies.
Compiles, maintains and files all physical and digital reports, records and other documents as required.
Gather data, check, arrange in proper required format and submit to ODE.
Clear all ODE audits and errors of submitted reports.
Maintain a constant flow of communication with the Student Services Director to support District students and staff.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma Must have 3+ years of experience utilizing student information systems including special education features.
Experience with Synergy SE highly preferred.
Knowledgeable about computer operations, applications, and maintenance.
Knowledge and experience working with individualized education plans and 504 plans.
Experience in various software and application systems.
Proficient in use of spreadsheets, forms, and presentation software Software troubleshooting experience.
Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
Written and oral communication skills.
Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgement, tact, and diplomacy Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Able to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Certification as may be required by State.
Valid Driver’s License.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from students, staff, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply concepts such as algebra, geometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in written, mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
