50 (Portland Metro) Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Interior Design Assistant Position for the University Housing and Dining Services Department at Oregon State University (OSU).
The Student Project Support will directly assist the UHDS Assistant Director of Capital and Space Planning with UHDS lounge furniture purchases, inventory management, and development and management of UHDS Interior Design Standards.
The UHDS projects team supports projects from new construction and renovations to furniture purchases and interior design decisions for UHDS at OSU.
This position will support the UHDS furniture operations by assisting with inventory processes, researching products, developing purchasing documentation, and organizing/maintaining UHDS furniture assets both in the field and tracking databases.
University Housing and Dining Services recognizes the importance of learning both in and out of the classroom, and supports the concept of education as an individual as well as a community experience.
Our primary focus is service to OSU students.
We strive to provide our students, faculty, staff, and guests with safe, economical, on-campus living and dining options that are convenient and comfortable.
We offer a variety of living and dining options in fifteen residence halls, three dining centers, and a limited number of family apartments.
Our department is an auxiliary enterprise which is funded solely by customers who use our services – we receive no state or tax dollars.
We work to maintain the highest educational and service standards for our customers.
Position Duties Furniture procurement and tracking Develop and maintain floorplans and elevations on Revit for each UHDS public space that reflect furniture and signage.
Inventory and assist in maintaining database of UHDS public furnishings.
Assist with planning and facilitating student focus groups to inform decisions.
Assist in the development of an interior finishes template for UHDS public spaces.
Developing specifications for furniture purchases, and assist in purchases.
Project execution and closeout Assist in end of project QA and warranty tracking.
Assist in the receipt and placement of purchased items.
Inventory maintenance Assist in the placement and arrangement of public furniture.
Assist in the removal of obsolete or broken inventory items.
