*Neighbors For Kids is a nonprofit 501(C)(3) organization that serves children and youth of Lincoln County.
We provide quality programs such as Preschool, After School & Summer Camp; for children from 3 years of age through 12th grade.

* *We are currently looking for three part-time After School Instructors.
After School Instructors must have a love for working with children, patience, and positive high energy.
Responsibilities will be supervising children, planning alongside the Director of Programs & Operations and other staff, engaging in age-appropriate enrichment activities, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment while supporting the social and emotional well-being of children.
* *Hours: During school days Monday-Friday 3pm-6pm (Wednesday*, *2pm-6pm) , Non-School Days 9am-6pm (dates TBD based on Lincoln County School District Calendar for the current school year) Full-time hours available during 10-week Summer Day Camp.
* *Wages: Starting at $15.
50 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.
* *Reports to: Director of Programs & Operations* *Job Summary: *As a Youth Leader for our after-school program, you will play a crucial role in creating a safe, supportive, and enriching environment for young participants.
You will be responsible for planning and implementing a variety of engaging activities, fostering positive relationships, and guiding youth in their personal and academic growth.
This position requires a passion for working with young people, excellent communication skills, and the ability to inspire and motivate.
*Key Responsibilities:* *1.
Program Planning and Implementation:* * Develop and execute a structured program schedule that includes academic support, recreational activities, and life skills development.
* Create age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that align with program goals and participant needs.
* Utilize creative and innovative methods to make learning and skill-building fun and engaging.
*2.
Youth Engagement:* * Build positive relationships with program participants, promoting inclusivity and a sense of belonging.
* Act as a positive role model, demonstrating respect, empathy, and strong communication skills.
* Encourage youth voice and choice in program activities and decision-making.
*3.
Academic Support:* * Assist participants with homework, tutoring, and educational activities.
* Collaborate with school staff and parents to monitor academic progress and identify areas for improvement.
*4.
Behavior Management:* * Enforce program rules and guidelines consistently, ensuring a safe and respectful environment.
* Implement conflict resolution and problem-solving strategies when conflicts arise.
*5.
Communication:* * Maintain open and effective communication with participants, their families, and program staff.
* Provide regular updates on participants' progress and challenges.
*6.
Safety and Well-being:* * Ensure the physical and emotional safety of program participants at all times.
* Follow safety protocols and emergency procedures diligently.
*7.
Record Keeping:* * Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, and program evaluations.
* Assist in preparing reports and documentation as required by Directors.
*8.
Professional Development:* * Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance job knowledge and skills.
* Stay informed about best practices in youth development and after-school programming.
*Qualifications:* * High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree in education, youth development, or a related field preferred.
* Previous experience working with youth in an educational or recreational setting is desirable.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, empathy, and the ability to work with diverse groups of young people.
* Ability to create and maintain a positive and inclusive environment.
* First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
* Must pass background checks.
*Physical Requirements:* * Ability to stand, walk, and engage in physical activities with youth.
* Lift and carry program supplies and equipment as needed.
