Job Summary:
University Information and Technology is seeking a Business and Fiscal Manager.
This is a full-time (1.
00 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position.
University Information and Technology (UIT) is Oregon State University's central IT organization, with an operating budget of approximately $36M/yr and additional project/program funding.
UIT is led by the Vice Provost for Information Technology, who is also OSU's Chief Information Officer (CIO) and the university official with responsibility for setting university-wide IT policy and guiding the university's central and distributed IT enterprise.
Under the direct supervision of the Chief of Staff for the Vice Provost for University Information and Technology, and University's Chief Information Officer (CIO), the UIT Business and Fiscal Manager is responsible for administration and oversight of the division's financial and business operations and financial strategic planning.
This position oversees operational and programmatic budgets as well as complex financial transactions in all parts of the division, including monitoring balances, providing budget projections, gathering, and analyzing data, creating reports, and completing the annual budget processes.
The Business and Fiscal Manager forecasts and advises the Chief of Staff, the CIO and other executive leadership on the budgetary impacts of programmatic and other changes, including development of strategic plans.
The position manages UIT participation in university processes for setting fees for services.
This position serves as liaison to and works in collaboration with the Division of Finance & Administration regarding account payable, travel, accounts receivable, purchasing, financial reporting, financial forecasting, budgeting, and project financing.
The Business and Finance Manager manages business and fiscal operations with UIT, including staff with responsibility for purchasing or billing and for resource analysis.
They ensure processes are executed within UIT in alignment with university policies and compliance requirements.
The position also serves as liaison to and in collaboration with University Human resources on implementation of HR processes to support UIT managers.
